Our world class facility in Dandenong, Victoria, is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing factories in Australia. It produces a wide range of product types for both Aspen's owned portfolio and external contract partners.

This facility is accredited with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and ISO Certifications, including ISO Device licenses - providing assurance of our capability to consistently produce high quality medicines.

Manufacturing Capabilities

Our TGA and GMP licenced facility in Dandenong manufactures both solids and liquids on a large-scale for prescription and non-prescription medicines, as well as medical devices for both domestic and export markets.

Liquids, Creams, Ointments and Devices

Aspen has a manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of Liquids, Creams, Ointments and Devices. A broad range of formulations, batch sizes and packaging formats can be accommodated.

Liquids and Creams:

  • Syrups, suspension, creams and lotions.
  • Batch size 150 to 5000 litres.
  • ‘Flammable Goods’ rated rooms.
  • Manufacture under Nitrogen if required. Separate ‘potents’ facility with own airlock.

Liquids filling:

  • Plastic and glass bottles from 18 ml to 1 litres+.
  • Caps, nasal sprays and pumps.
  • ‘Fill by weight’ technology.
  • Dual side labelling, auto change over.
  • Shrink seal application.
  • Measuring cup automatic replacement.

Tube filling:

  • Metal, HDPE, Metal and Plastic laminate.
  • 5 grams to 300 grams filling capability.
  • Cartoning on line.

Solid Dose

Aspen has solid dose manufacturing facility that offer a broad range of capabilities for solid dose production

  • Batches from 50 kg to 2000 kg.
  • Tablets (coated and uncoated), Capsules.
  • Wet granulation (tray or fluid bed dry).
  • Fluid bed spray granulation.
  • Direct Compression.
  • Aqueous coating.
  • Encapsulation.
  • Sachet filling.
  • AustL, Open, S2, S3, S4 and S8.

Packaging:

  • Blister packs in a wide range of formats of film/aluminium plus cold form (aluminium).
  • Bottles, glass and plastic.
  • Sacheting.
  • Catch covering and secondary packaging.

Support Services

Our contract customers have the option of Aspen providing all or part of the support services associated with the production, testing and release-for-sale of pharmaceutical products.

Services offered include:

  • Material sourcing and procurement – customers benefit from Aspen’s purchasing power.
  • Analytical and Microbiological testing – Aspen have modern laboratories, equipped with the latest technology.
  • Validation – process and analytical.
  • Dual side labelling, auto change over.
  • Stability programmes.
  • Product development including un-grandfathering of products.
